Introduction
Creating a local repository is useful for ingesting datasets that are not likely to change often and represents a way to categorize datasets. You can create 1 or more local repositories on your local machine and access all of them using Ergo's Catalog View. Using local repositories will also allow you to safely clear the cache repository (created by default) that is used to cache intermediate results. To create a new repository, launch Ergo and follow the instructions in the next section
New Local Repository
To create a new local repository, locate the Catalog view and click on the New Repository button as illustrated in the figure below:
After clicking New Repository, you should see a wizard open to guide you through the process of creating the new repository. The first page asks you to select a repository type. From the dropdown menu, select Local Repository and click Next. See the figure below.
The last page asks you to enter a name for the new repository and a location on your computer. Specify a name for the new repository (e.g. Ergo-Local) and either enter a path to a folder to use or use the Browse button to find a folder on your machine to use (e.g. C:\Ergo-Local for Windows or /home/username/Ergo-Local for Linux/Mac). When you have specified a name and location for the new repository, click Finish. The image below is for a Linux machine.
After clicking Finish, your Catalog view should look similar to the one below:
The new repository is highlighted in the figure and is ready to use. When you import datasets into Ergo, the new repository should be available when Ergo asks where to import the new dataset.
