This section describes the new user interfaces and data views that we're building into the GeoDashboard for the Sea Grant Phase II project.  The goal of these new pages is to 'keep it simple' by providing users

 

  • a quick start to the site,
  • an ability to showcase and featured information, data, results, surveys, etc..., 
  • provide quick links so user's can navigate through the site to easily to find data types or collections for regions of interest during particular times,   
  • and provide admins an ability to dynamically update sections of the site.

The user interface will to provide a community easy access to large collections of scientific data.  The approach will create a system that provides dynamic content definition based on search and display the results through a series of page templates.   In this phase of the project the templates will be relatively static, however, community members with CSS and HTML skills can customize existing templates or add new layout templates to meet their community's needs.  The following sections describe the templates, search and potential data views that will be built for the user community based on use case scenarios.
