The goal of this project is to develop a framework rooted in semantic te= chniques to support the GeoScience =E2=80=9Clong-tail=E2=80=9D models = and data integration. The objective of this framework is to provide a = knowledge-based platform that can be easily adopted across geoscience commu= nities comprising of individual and small group researchers, to allow = semantically heterogeneous system to interact with minimum human inter= vention. The outcomes of this project will introduce a cyber-infrastructure= to close the loop from models= queries' back to data sources in a seamless paradigm. The proposed work wi= ll pioneer the development of a robust knowledge framework that will: (i) m= inimize human intervention in semantic mediation; (ii) minimize the context= ambiguity of data that advances a machine=E2=80=99s physical interpretatio= n of physical meaning embedded in the metadata; and (iii) automate the =E2= =80=9Ccrosswalks=E2=80=9D between geoscience standard names.
