Brown Dog Early User Workshop Demonstration (be sure to select 720p HD)

DAP Bookmarklet (YouTube)

The Data Access Proxy bookmarklet.  Simply go to the bookmarklet download site (not yet publicly available), drag the icon to your bookmark toolbar, and you are set.  Go to a new page containing files you want to get access to and click on the DAP bookmark.  If the Brown Dog DAP is capable of converting the file to other formats it will present those options in a popup menu as you move your mouse over links on the page.  Select a desired output format from the menu and the DAP will carry out the conversion.  These conversions may involve intermediary formats  and several pieces of software running on many different machines and platforms within the "cloud". The user, however, doesn't have to worry about any of that as the Brown Dog Data Access Proxy takes care of that the needed software requirements and coordination.

DTS Bookmarklet (YouTube)

The Data Tilling Service bookmarklet.  Again, simply go to the bookmarklet download site (not yet publicly available), drag the icon to your bookmark toolbar, and you are set.  Go to a new page containing a collection of files you wish to sift through and click on the DTS bookmark.  This will trigger the execution of a host of content based analysis tools to process the files on the page and extract metadata by which to search them by.  This is ideal for collections which have no metadata otherwise.  A search box is presented to the user to then query the files on the page based on the newly extracted metadata.  Note that none of these capabilities exist on the page you are looking at but are instead provided by the Brown Dog Data Tilling Service.
