states:

I was unable to find a current, open ticket for this, but found an old ticket that appears to be related: DFDL-232.

I used the start script to run the tests on the command line using the .in files for AB006-AB009. Please see commit 963860c in master. The following are the processing times:
AB006 - 8 seconds
AB007 - 30 seconds
AB008 - 2 minutes and 35 seconds
AB009 - 2 minutes.

I parsed the data in AB007 with the CLI (parse subcommand) and it took 34 seconds:

time daffodil_cli parse -s daffodil-test/src/test/resources/edu/illinois/ncsa/daffodil/section12/lengthKind/AB.dfdl.xsd --root matrix  daffodil-core/src/test/resources/test/AB007.in

I parsed the same test with the CLI (test subcommand) and it took 1 minute 24 seconds:

time daffodil_cli test daffodil-test-ibm1/src/test/resources/test-suite/tresys-contributed/ABLargeData.tdml.dat AB007

I ran the test with sbt and it's been running for over 5 minutes and is still going.
