We have several use cases that should allow us to finalize the next version of authentication in Workbench. Based on discussions about NCSA LDAP, CILogon and Globus Auth, it seems that we need to support pluggable authentication. We plan to keep our own internal authentication and signup process for sites that have no authentication (e.g.,, Hackathons/Workshops). We'll add LDAP authentication for integration with coupled systems (e.g., ROGER/TERRA). We'll add Oauth and specifically Globus auth.
