Issues identified while testing NDS-701:

• Pod status problems: Kubernetes reports pod in ready state, but NDS Labs says starting and ultimately times out.
• SMTP errors: smtp.sdsc.edu doesn't support TLS (symptom; account creation results in error "503 5.5.0 TLS not available")
