Clowder follows a typical open source governance model with a group of committers having final say to what ends up in the master/develop branches and a BDFL with final say on disputes and arguments within the community.

If you want to become a contributor please review and follow the following instructions CONTRIBUTING.md.

The following roles exist:

  • Contributor
    • Makes contributions to the project.
    • See CONTRIBUTING.md to learn how to become one. Please follow the workflow describe in that document. Thank you.
  • Committer
    • Knows the code very well and has made substantial contributions to the project.
    • Helps define how specific features are implemented.
    • Has write permission to develop and master branch.
    • A unanimous vote by current committers is required for a contributor to become a committer.
  • Benevolent Dictator for Life (BDFL)
    • Retains the final say in disputes or arguments within the community.
    • Manages releases. 
    • Helps define long term direction and software architecture.
