The original version of the transformation catalog didn't generate errors. In an update there was an error added, but it simply returns a simple text message and error code. This gives a page with no navigation, and a need to hit the back button to fix the error.

To handle this we should create a flask error handler, so that even 404 errors can return a page with navigation and the error message.
