Casbah is not on MongoDB/Java 3.0 [1]. Salat is not being updated regularly [2]. Java driver 3.0 supports some kind of mapping to object as well async operations (on top of netty). Maybe we can try to simplify the code by dropping Salat/Casbah and talking directly to the Java 3.0 driver?
