Java7 is out now for a long time. It is supposedly much faster than Java6. Eclipse scala IDE supports it. scala 2.9.1 and beyond support it.

Someone should change-out their java install to a java7 install, and see what happens.

it makes sense to do this in spin 9 timeframe, because users of Daffodil starting in April, may want/prefer Java7 if only for all the security fixes.
