I parsed a date/time looking like this 04.02.2013 at 14:00:56-05:00

The infoset has: 2013-04-02T19:00Z

It basically adjusted the timezone so as to be the same point in time, but in the Z timezone.

I don't think this is right. Unless there is clear direction in the spec someplace, I think Daffodil should preserve the timezone information and present back in the same timezone.
