Via the JAPI, users see our choice of DOM-tree (JDOM); hence, that should be a current implementation of whatever library it is. Today we're using JDOM 1.1.3, but JDOM 2.x has been available for a while.

Note that once we have a larger user base, we'll be stuck supporting JDOM 2.x forever even if we change what is used internally by daffodil (for space or speed reasons perhaps). That would cost a pass over the data, but that said, it's easy to do.
