Provide an upload ability so users can contribute data to the repository.

Provide general upload capabilities via Medici
Provide extraction services for known data types and formats
Provide an import wizard to allow users to map their data set to the existing data types/templates

      Use case:

      • User uploads file via a Medici upload interface.
      • - Extractions occur base on known MIMEs and column headers
      • If unknown, then give user a choice to "Map to existing data" format or "Create New data" format
      • - provide user a column mapping service
      • - - existing fields: source, date, time, latitude, longitude, data type, data value, comments, additional data1, ad2, etc...
      • - - User fields: from, date, time, lat, lon, value, name, other....

Notes 1) Mapping user data to existing data templates could have unknown column headers/data types. These could get added as additional data to an existing data set. E.g. user file contains a column header: Professor with a value in the row = Smith; the result would be a new column Additional Data: Professor Smith

      Other options include:

      • add new column to existing data. (needs to be authorized by admin)
      • create a new data set that is related or a super set of an existing template and allow the user to save the result as a new template for future uploads.

Q: Do we create a default 'least common denominator' data set, enable mapping and let all additional data become annotations to the default data set, letting the columns grow as needed?
