Another experiment that we need to perform in order to understand the capabilities and limitations of Akka as a workflow environment for us is the ability of Akka to interact with QC code written in python. Writing a simple occurrence data QC function in python, and then wrapping it in an Akka actor, including it in an FP-Akka workflow, and then benchmarking the behavior of that workflow is an engineering experiment that will help us to understand what we are able to accomplish of our goals within the Akka framework.
