FP-Akka-1.4.1
dwc:scientificName values that assert identifications which compose a scientific name with some other formulaic value in an identification (e.g. "c.f. Murex brunea", "Smilisca sp.") are treated as errors and corrected by stripping off the formulaic addition.
We should do some recognition and handling of typical formulations (such as: cf, sp., spp., indet.) prior to trying to validate the value of scientificName+scientificName authorship. At least some of these cases (e.g. cf., aff.) should be split off into identificationQualifier, and that asserted as a correction.
Pointed out by Brendan in examining a QC report on MCZbase data.
