After setting the filter by region of interest attribute, I closed MAEviz and reopened it and the dataset was unfiltered again. I dragged the US counties from the postgis server to my shelby county scenario and the dataset was filtered to only show shelby county. Closing and Reopening MAEviz, all counties were displayed.
