the symptom is that only some of the previews on a listing page appear to load, and the rest don't appear until the mouse moves over some Javascript control with a handler. this looks like some kind of asynchrony issue in the Javascript, and does not occur in non-WebKit browsers (e.g., IE, Firefox).

the above symptoms are observed in Safari. In Chrome, there is a delay, but the images load after that delay.
