The popup menu shouldn't display inside the Gallery view unless something is selected, or we should test for empty selection. To reproduce this error:

1) Right click anywhere in the gallery view (except on an object)
2) Select an menu item such as "Add Comment" and it throws an unhandled event loop exception (null). Most actions that popup in the menu throw NPE because nothing is selected.
