After refactoring the UI into multiple modules, there has been some strange behavior from DashboardController.js

Placing a breakpoint at line 18 and refreshing the page, we see that the controller is instantiated 3 times: once and twice in rapid succession and again after the first time autorefresh fires (5+ seconds later)

More investigation is needed into why this is happening, and what effects might result from this strange behavior.
