NDS Sprint 27
Description
GeoWS (aka WSS), one of the building blocks requested for the All-Hands Demo, appears to be an API framework for providing access to an underlying data repository. Since they do not provide a concrete server example, one of the clients might make for a better demonstration:
If you are perhaps looking for clients that can be used to discover and access data at our data center then look here:
http://service.iris.edu/clients/The most used clients are:
- The command line FetchData script (written in Perl)
- The IRIS-WS Java library
- The clients in the ObsPy (Python) toolkit developed by members of the seismology community
- The irisFetch.m (MATLAB) client, which uses the IRIS-WS Java library
- A slew of other potential tools listed here: https://seiscode.iris.washington.edu/projects/
This ticket is complete when one or more of the following utilities have been containerized and a spec has been created allowing the new image to work in Labs Workbench.
