After hearing at SC'12 and from the Data Conservancy how they plan to connect with DropBox, I went out and looked at the API - fairly simple with Java nad other implementations. I think it would be worthwhile for someone to look at the API and think through how we might integrate, either as a one time import from dropbox, an ongoing import, or really trying to maintain a sync between dropbox and the extra data/metadata in SEAD. One specific question in this would be whether this helps with access control (do we manage the permission to share via dropbox and have people use dropbox's mechanisms to manage access for individual users?)

I'd be happy to discuss if someone wants to pick this up. My guess is that having someone do a little thinking and then present back as a way to spur some group discussion, followed by a decision on what to implement would be a reasonable way to go. If you want to kick this off, let me know/assign yourself this task.
