Somewhere the logic related to sessions expiring causes the user to be directed to #logout and because the code requires valid credentials to perform logout, the user is required to login and, once they do, the logout proceeds. Once the logout succeeds and they are redirected to #login or #listDataSets, they can login/work normally. #logout could probably just handle expired credentials, but it may be better to not force the app to go there in the first place...
