In our current UI, on the grid view of datasets, title names are often cut off such that meaningful information about the file is lost, unless someone clicks on the particular datafile (note that hover over also reveals full title). Annie and Dharma should figure out the minimum of what should be displayed and mocked up. For example, it's likely important to know the type of file (something that might be addressed in the icon as well) by including the file extension (e.g. .txt, .xml, etc.) even if it is missing from the title itself. It might also be important to include info like creator name and date (see Figshare: http://figshare.com/articles/browse#thumb). Also consider how more characters might be displayed.
