A researcher obtains a biodiversity data set aggregated from one or more sources, upon which that researcher wishes to perform some analysis (the nature of the analysis specifying a data quality use case). The researcher selects a set of one or more data assurance specifications (either directly or by specifying a use case that specifies a set of specifications) and an output format. The researcher stores the specification for reuse, or uploads the dataset and executes a workflow that carryis out the list of specified quality assurance specifications.
Three products are produced:
- A output file which contains all records in the input file that fit the criteria specified. (Excluding those which do not match the quality assurance criteria).
- A summary report counting how many records were included, and how many were excluded based on which criteria.
- A provenance trace explaining the applciation of the specifications.
